History of YouTube

The idea for Youtube was thought up by Jawed Karim, Steve Chen, and Chad Hurley. YouTube was originally created as a platform for anyone to post any video content they desired. It was hoped that users could use the site to upload, share, and view content without restriction. The beta for youtube was posted in May of 2005. In that same year the first Youtube Video came out, titled "Me At the Zoo" which was created by one of the creators of YouTube, Jawed Karim, and was taken at the San Diego Zoo in front of the Elephants. Many different companies wanted to buy Youtube, like Google, Microsoft, Viacom, Yahoo and the News Corporation. Google ended up being the company that worked out a deal with the original creators to buy the site in 2006 for 1.65 billion dollars. Video Gamer PewDiePie is currently the most subscribed to channel on Youtube with 107 million subscribers. Youtube is a great platform for people to express themselves, and a great platform to inform people on very different kinds of information.
